Pierre-Gaspard Chaumette

A leader of the radical enragés faction within the Paris popular movement, Chaumette was a member of the insurrectionary Paris Commune during the Revolution of August 1792 that overthrew the monarchy. He was a leading advocate of the Terror and Dechristianization in Paris before himself being arrested and then guillotined in the early spring of 1794.
