Occupation: Financier; Politician
Minister of Finance during the Girondin ministry of May-June 1792, shortly before the fall of the monarchy. He was arrested during the purge of the Girondins from the National Convention on 2 June 1793 and remained in gaol for the rest of the year. He committed suicide on learning of his impending trial at the Paris Revolutionary Tribunal in December.
