Dècle

Occupation: Estate steward

Dècle had been a member of the duchess's staff managing her Moreuil estate. Supplementary biographical information is scant, but he had been in the duchess's service since the early 1780s as a 'régisseur' or estate steward. This was a position of considerable responsibility, and although he had been replaced in the role by 1791 he was then entrusted with making plans for the duchess's accommodation in Tournai ahead of her emigration there.
