A deputy in the National Convention and a member of the Girondin faction. He was targeted in the purge of 2 June 1793 and subsequently tried alongside Brissot and twenty other deputies in October 1793. When the guilty verdict was read out in court, Dufriche-Valazé committed suicide by stabbing himself with a knife he had concealed on his person.
